Kyle Harris is a drummer turned producer and sound designer whose music challenges the imagination of his listeners with surreal, maximal sound worlds. Kyle has a keen interest in the relationship between the natural world, urban ecosystems and the modern conundrum humans have of living partially in the machine world and in nature. Using electronic sound design techniques like sample processing and synthesis, Kyle works to blend everything from water samples, air and environmental recordings, and animal sounds with metallic synthesis, big basses, and heavy distortion. He believes the beauty of electronic music is its infinite potential and you are only limited by imagination.

In 2021, Kyle released his debut EP, Frames. A collection of seven songs composed and produced using drumming technology, Sensory Percussion. Using machine learning, Kyle bends, warps, stretches, and destroys sound using his expressive musical gestures on a special midi controller drum set. What you see is drumming, but what you hear is the complex cosmos of sound from his personal world.

Currently based in Boston, Ma, Kyle has built a full creative life allowing him to hone and develop his musical approach. He’s been a resident and touring drummer for the Blue Man Group since 2016 and has performed across the world in China, Russia, Europe, Canada, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. He’s also been a longtime collaborator of Bent Knee founders Courtney Swain and Ben Levin and has had opportunities to perform in the US and internationally with the two artists.

Outside of performance and producing, Kyle maintains a full schedule as a session drummer for local Boston studios, working with clients from all over the world. He also runs a drum school , Boston Drum Lessons, and piano school, Boston Piano Lessons. In his spare time, you can find him practicing yoga and surfing.
